I decided to write mostly out of frustration. I had a lot on my mind and needed a way to calm my thoughts.  Writing a blog seemed to make sense.   My intent at first was to write about politics mostly as that was the initial driving force, but once started I discovered that writing about politics wasn’t any easier than talking about it. I never felt comfortable really saying what I thought or felt.

After a couple posts I began to think more about writing than about politics. I decided I needed to expand my writing topics so I started a list.  I wrote down things that interested me: people, pets, plants, politics, poverty, poetry.   A  pattern emerged–they all began with the letter p.   I had my topics, but I still needed a blog title.

Then one morning with my eyes still closed I awoke thinking of how peaceful my life had become.  Retiring really had brought more “peace of mind”.  Since I was writing a blog to share a  “piece of mind” I decided to wrap this idea into blog categories called Ps of Mine.   (I like word games.)

I don’t know where I’ll go from here, but hopefully I’ll find something useful to say and you’ll find something of value to read.  Thanks for lending me a bit of your time.

  2. I love the pictures of your garden. In this area of Canada, spring comes much later. Your pictures give me inspiration for the changes that I plan to make now that I have retired.
I also like the description you offer about yourself in your about page. Many of the statements ring true for my situation. Isn’t it great to have the opportunity to enjoy the post work phase of life? I count my blessings every day.

I get up every morning thinking, “Why did I ever think I should hesitate?” Hope you enjoy your retirement and get a chance to do all the things you couldn’t find time for before. I like that you have gained “inspiration” from my efforts. It’s a description that I seldom feel applies to me, but I like the sound of it. You can tell me that anytime.
